Please make any rule suggestions for the finalized rules as a reply to this thread. All (serious) suggestions will be reviewed by the administration staff.

Just the administrators. There are 5 of us, including myself and Doug; however Emperor Doug has final say.

Basically the way i'm planning for this to work is after a period of time (say 1 week) we will gather ALL of the suggestions (including ones the admins submit) into one massive list - removing duplicate or bad suggestions. after that, the "master list" will be sent to each Admin at which point they will color code the rules they wish to keep or eliminate. From there, we tally the scores for each rule, majority vote wins - and we just weed it down to that. if there's too many, we re-vote on the remaining ones.

I say Doug has the final say in everything. Including votes/polls.

Let's look at this situation at a government ideology.

We are the house of representatives, we create, approve or disapprove bills (rules in our case).

From us, it goes to the higher ranks such as Daedalus, to vote as well.

From there, of course, it moves to Emperor Doug...the "president" of our little forum, who makes the final decision.

That's not really a rule, more of a "Feature Request", however it sounds like a good idea and will be taken into consideration.

*Instead of those "How's my Driving" sticker... it'll be a "How's my Modding" stickers! LOL

The ability to vote in or out moderators would get abused.

True, however that's why the admins have final vote, AFTER reviewing all the provided evidence. If it was just a vote abuse - it is disregarded.

Indeed. Also, I'd say no more than 5 moderators. That's being generous.

This is not really a rule, but more of a suggestion.

I noticed the new sort of ranking system and it looked cool.

So, I thought the amount of posts correspond to a certain rank:

10 posts - 1 star
50 posts - 2 stars
250 posts - 3 stars
750 posts - 4 stars
1500 posts - 5 stars

Just an idea to get people more active so they can increase their rank!

Oh, and there could be a unique name for each rank:

1 star - Junior Member
2 stars - Member
3 stars - Advanced Member
4 stars - Senior Member
5 stars - Elder Member (idk)

Yeah, we're discussing the ranking system right now - we're voting on the style. the one you see in some of the members right now is just a preset one (for testing). I'll be doing a custom design based off of the final template that we decide on.

But does that sound good basing the rank on the amount of posts?

I can't really see any other way.

For standard members that's how it would more or less work, Though i'm thinking of having a 2-3 tier system (still based on amount of points). users start in tier 1, and their % moves up in increments of 10% until they reach 100% (of course, each increment has its own rank symbol associated with it). Tier 1 would be standard members, Tier 2 would be Advanced Members, and Tier 3 would be R\N Faithful? something along those lines.

But, we also have the option of "Special" ranks, such as mine - which can't be achieved by posting numbers - I'm thinking that members who reach the top tier at 100% (2 or 3, depending) will gain the privelege of requesting their own rank title (which, of course must be pre-approved by the admin staff). of course, all this will have to be voted on AFTER we choose a template...

Anyway - I think i'm going to open up another thread for Suggestions, since I seem to see more of those than Ideas for rules LOL.

Yes, sounds good.

However, the problem I see is that the large post counts that I have would get me to the highest rank instantly.

Maybe my reward for being active all this time? Idk.

The "highest" rank of the members, maybe - but not the *HIGHEST* member rank ~ there will be a few others above the rank you get from the posts...

besides, just means people need to get more active! Razz
