SOPA and You: Part 1: What to do when the internet is on strike on January 18, 2012

Mostly, people who are anti-SOPA (major people who are anti-SOPA) will show or reference something related to censorship, showing what it would be like if the internet were censored. This is happening on Janurary 18, 2012. The list of participants are here: http://sopastrike.com/

Now, what to actually do?

1. Go call your representative, or email him or her to persuade her to go against SOPA
2. Play some video games on your computer
3. Go outside and walk in the park
4. Read a book (on an Amazon Kindle)
5. Watch Television
6. Browse the sites that aren't censored.
7. If you have something to do (e.g., work, school, etc) go do it.
8. Go draw something.
9. If all else fails, go to sleep.
10. But if sleeping fails, then I do not know what else to tell you.

My Company relies on SOPA and PIPA not passing. I will be pushed to the street if this goes through!

What benefits does censoring the internet have?

If you visit Wikipedia, it's blacked out for 24 hours because they are simulating what it will be like with SOPA.

Wikipedia would be gone! How would I be able to do research papers!?

There are these ancient places on school grounds called "Libraries", where you can find mythical artifacts called books and encyclopedias. ;p

I feel bad for libraries now. My school library has thousands of books, however, maybe about 200 are actually used.

Mainly the anime section is occupied.

Haha - it was the same thing at the school I worked at...

It's funny though, I am currently in my school library talking about how nobody goes to the library for books anymore.
